According to In Touch, Casper Smart has some “competition” for Jennifer Lopez — and it’s “American Idol” contestant Phillip Phillips!

(Yes, we’re laughing, too.)

Lopez “acts like a giddy schoolgirl whenever she’s around” Phillips, writes the tabloid, and Smart has “had enough!”

So what’s the proof that Lopez has eyes for Phillips?

Well, she “gushed” about his April 25 performance of “Fat Bottomed Girls.”

And… that’s pretty much it.

But In Touch smells trouble, and claims Smart is “on high alert and attends all Idol tapings so he can keep an eye on his competition — and his woman.”

“There’s definitely tension in the air,” swears an “insider” for the magazine. “It’s like two peacocks running around, spreading their feathers in order to attract the same female!”

And reading In Touch is like watching peacocks attempting to write celebrity news.

This story — that Smart and Phillips are “competing” for Lopez — is completely absurd.

A rep for Lopez was being kind when he described it to Gossip Cop as “inaccurate.”
