Jennifer Lopez’s New Lesbian ABC Family Show Targeted by One Million Moms Group

“The Fosters,” a new TV show from Jennifer Lopez, is being condemned by conservative watchdog group One Million Moms because it features a lesbian couple raising children.

Even though the upcoming ABC Family project from Lopez’s production company does not have a cast or even a completed pilot, One Million Moms has posted a call to arms on its website, decrying the “anti-family” series and asking supporters to “stop [it] dead in [its] tracks.”

Earlier this year, the group targeted JC Penney for using openly gay Ellen DeGeneres as a spokesperson, leading to an ill-fated boycott that did not change Penney’s association with DeGeneres.

In anticipation of “The Fosters,” One Million Moms issued the following statement:

“Obviously, ABC has lost their minds. They haven’t let up so neither will we. ABC’s Family Channel has several anti-family programs, and they are planning on adding to that growing list. ABC Family has approved a series pilot from Jennifer Lopez’s production company, Nuyorican, about a lesbian couple and their diverse family.”

“Many families have already discovered that ABC Family Channel is anything but family-friendly. But because of family being part of the network’s name, we thought a warning should still be sent out for anyone who continues to watch the channel. A premiere date has not been set, but One Million Moms wanted to sound the alarm about this new series. It will be airing on the network soon unless we do something about it. They are in the beginning stages.”

“ABC Family reported the comedy-drama pilot, working with the title “The Fosters,” is about two women raising a “21st century,” multi-ethnic mix of foster and biological kids. While foster care and adoption is a wonderful thing and the Bible does teach us to help orphans, this program is attempting to redefine marriage and family by having two moms raise these children together. One Million Moms is not sure how the explanation will be given on how the biological children were conceived. None of this material is acceptable content for a family show.”

“Hollywood is continuing to push an agenda that homosexuality is acceptable when scripture states clearly it is a sin. As Christians, the Bible also says that we must speak up against sin. If we remain silent then we are guilty of sin also.”

“Lopez will be an executive producer for the hour-long project. Casting has not been announced. It’s still in the pilot stage and hasn’t been picked up for a series yet. Let’s stop this dead in it its tracks.”

One Million Moms then asks supporters to “take action” by writing to ABC Family to encourage the network to “drop all their plans to air the program” and urging advertisers to pull commercials from the network in protest.

The bible also says that we humans are not to be the judges. Yet here they are judging everyone, acting as if a TV show will bring the end to all of humanity.

This is what happens when busybodies have too much time on their hands and feel self righteous. Shouldn’t they be more concerned with spreading love and compassion than giving other Christians a bad wrap?

They need to update their definition of family because it’s not the 1950s. Healthy children can be raised by homosexual parents, a single parent, multi generation households, etc.

I’m a Christian myself, and I could literally jump in the faces of #One Million Mums. The only thing I found cruel about this whole project is the opinion of One Million Moms. I believe in marriage, no matter if you’re homosexual or not. I think you have the right to love a man or a woman. For me it doesn’t matter. I’d feel sick to forbid people to have kids just because of their sexual orientation. For me, love is love. It’s a feeling you normally cannot resist. So, if you’re a woman and you love a woman, that’s great. And if you wanna have a family, have one. We’re all equal, we’re all human beings. I would totally feel ashamed by writing thins like One Million Moms. I also think that religion moves on. Accept it, we’re in the 21st century. And I agree with Ann.

Too many parents depend on the entertainment industry to raise their children for them while they engage in stuff that doesn’t even matter. Raise your kids to have open minds, values, and morals. If you raise your kids right, you won’t have to worry about a tv show corrupting your children.

Religion isn’t the root of all evil. That’s a very contrived statement. I completely dissagree with what One Million Moms is doing, it is wrong and hypocritical to the actual values religion tries to spread. Religion isn’t bad, it’s the people who interpret it and decide to be Crusaders that you have to watch out for.

Wow! I am stunned that so many of you are supportive of this madness! ABC Family is wrong on so many levels. First off, to the person who posted the bible says we shouldn’t judge people. That is false! The bible states if we are doing the same thing that we are judging, then we are wrong to judge because we’re guilty of the same thing we’re judging, but the bible clearly instructs us to speak against sin and evil. Homosexuality is a sin! God forbids it and hates it. Leviticus 20:13 says: “If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death.” 1 Corinthians 6:9 says: “Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals”
I will side with God against what is now becoming accepted in the world. I cannot and will not ever accept homosexuality because God said we must hate what he hates and love what he loves. I mean, if it was accepted in the world to be pedophilic, will you all be standing up for pedophilia? What about beastiality, people marrying robots? The prince of the power of the air is ruling this world, and that is the devil. Homosexuality is an abomination! I support One Million Moms, but unfortunately that sinful television project made it to ABC Family’s line up. But God will have the last laugh in the end.
