Is “Jenny from the block” moving to the beach?

There seems to be a lot of confusion about Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony closing on a luxury three-story condominium in Miami’s Icon Brickell.

OK! reports that some time ago the couple looked to buy a dream home there. “Now the deal on their waterfront pad has been closed,” a Miami “insider” told the tab.

And People magazine reports that during halftime of last night’s Miami Dolphins football game, Anthony said that he “bought a condo today in Miami.” So it would seem then that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony now have a new Miami home, right?

Not so fast, everyone.

Anthony’s rep tells Gossip Cop exclusively that yesterday was the first time that the couple looked for a home, adding, “Marc is thinking about buying a place in Miami. Not a done deal as of today.”

Huh?

Gossip Cop then asked about Anthony’s quotes to People about having “bought a condo today,” and the rep offered that maybe because of “noise from the stadium,” reporters didn’t hear it correctly. We even called back to double check, and the rep said that she had just spoken to Anthony’s manager, who along with the singer, was headed to Mexico for a concert, and maintained that “nothing is finalized.”

It’s rare that a celebrity will say something only to have his rep claim it was misheard.

We’ll keep you posted on any new developments down in Miami. You might recall that Lopez and Anthony and their children recently felt right at home in another nice piece of real estate.
