Jennifer Lopez Returns to American Idol, Performs with Pitbull on Finale (VIDEO)
Jennifer Lopez made a highly-anticipated return to “American Idol” on Thursday’s season 12 finale. The former judge performed her new single “Live It Up” with Pitbull.
The song is the pair’s fourth collaboration together, following “Fresh Out The Oven,” “On The Floor,” and “Dance Again.” “Live It Up” was just released earlier last, and this performance marked the first time Lopez was performing it live.
She and Pitbull had previously performed “On The Floor” on “American Idol” in 2011. They also hit the “American Idol” stage for “Dance Again” last year.
Lopez was a judge on “American Idol” during seasons 10 and 11. While she seemed to enjoy the experience, she left before season 12 to pursue other endeavors.
Fellow panelist Steven Tyler left, too, leaving Randy Jackson as the lone returning judge for season 12. He was joined by Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey. The latter two made headlines all season after repeatedly butting heads, something that never happened between Lopez, Tyler and Jackson.
It seems almost certain Minaj and Carey won’t be turning for a 13th season next year. Would you like to see Lopez return to the panel next season?
