Jennifer Lopez Quits American Idol

It’s official: Jennifer Lopez is leaving “American Idol.”

One day after Steven Tyler announced his departure, J. Lo did the same, tearfully telling the show’s host, Ryan Seacrest, of her decision in a phone call to his radio show on Friday.

Lopez has been a judge on “American Idol” for the past two seasons.

A number of high-profile possible replacements, including Mariah Carey, have been discussed.

    AI is declining, & it’s a good blood bath for the show. Next randy needs to go.

    AI has jumped the shark. And.. there are just too many of these talent programs now – X Factor, The Voice, Duets, ad nauseum and most of them are only different in who’s judging. There are only just so many ways you can dress up the format. It’s a freakin’ talent show, for crying out loud. And then there’s all the dance contests, AGT, blah, blah, blah… Used to love them. Don’t watch ANY of them anymore.

    Awww I’m going to miss Jennifer and Steven. They really were a breath of fresh air. I do understand though.

    Maybe I’ll start watching AI again. I saw her a few times during the audition and she was not a good judge. I just don’t care for her. Could not watch it with her. Steven Tyler wasn’t good either. And I hope they don’t get Mariah Carey. I think maybe they should cancel AI, it’s been on for so long, it jut not fun anymore.
