Truth rating: 10

The “American Idol” judges gave an incredible joint performance on Wednesday’s season finale of “American Idol.” Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. performed “True Colors” and “Go Your Own Way.”

They were joined by mentor and former judge Randy Jackson. Lopez, not particularly known for playing an instruments, even broke out the tambourine.

As Gossip Cop has reported, Lopez, Urban and Connick each performed individually on different nights throughout the season. This marked the first time the trio took the stage for a group musical performance.

While the “American Idol” finale is obviously about the Final 2 contestants (in this case, Jena Irene and Caleb Johnson), and celebrating the Top 10, this moment gave everyone a chance to celebrate the season 13 panel. This year marked Lopez’s return to the show, Urban and Connick’s first as judges alongside her.

The show continued to drop in the ratings compared to past years, but the judges were praised for their chemistry. It was a marked change from last year, when the war between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj seemed to overshadow everything… and not in a good way.

It’s not yet known if Lopez, Urban, and Connick will all return for season 14. At least, for now, we have this.
