Jennifer Lopez Drops F-Bomb on American Idol

Truth rating: 10

By Shari Weiss

Jennifer Lopez accidentally dropped an F-bomb on Wednesday’s “American Idol.”

During a critique of Jena Irene’s performance, fellow judges Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban started playfully goading the superstar into doing a hair flip.

Once the audience joined in, chanting a demand for Lopez to show off one of her signature moves, an amused Lopez let the four-letter word escape her lips. It was pretty funny.

As Gossip Cop reported, Irene had performed “Bring Me to Life” by Evanescence. She won unanimous praise from the judges, including Lopez. The star told the contestant she was “phenomenal.”

While Lopez’s F-bomb might have taken some of the spotlight away from Irene, it was a light-hearted moment that reinforced the panel’s easygoing chemistry. While Lopez has been an “American Idol” judge on two prior seasons, this is Connick and Urban’s first time at the table.

After last season’s debacle, in which the incompatibly between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey was sometimes difficult to watch, these three stars seem to work together easily, and happily, too. Even as “American Idol” continues to lose some of its audience (its ratings are a fraction of what they once were), this season has been critically acclaimed so far largely because of Lopez, Connick and Urban’s chemistry.

It’s easy to see why here.
