Jennifer Lopez Broadway Show Report NOT True
Jennifer Lopez is not planning a Broadway show about her life, despite a report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the story, which comes from one of the tabloids.
It’s alleged in this week’s Star that Lopez is “going back to the block.” The magazine writes that Lopez “wants to produce a Broadway musical about her life, using her hit tunes to tell the story of a girl who went from the South Bronx to stardom.” The superstar is said to “envision a project similar to Gloria Estefan’s biographical musical, On Your Feet — but with a massive dose of Jennifer’s signature glamour.”
“Jennifer loves New York and is looking for an excuse to move there after she finishes her Las Vegas residency,” a so-called “source” is quoted as saying. The alleged tipster goes on to claim, “She’s been looking for something new to sink her teeth into and is convinced that Broadway is her calling. She can’t wait to start casting.” Bizarrely, the outlet ends its nice piece by taking a dig, writing, “Watch out, Casper Smart, we know how Jennifer gets around backup dancers.”
Not only is that comment uncalled for, but the entire story isn’t even accurate. As Gossip Cop already debunked last week when Star sister publication OK! first made the allegation, Lopez is NOT moving to New York when her residency goes on hiatus. In fact, she’s currently in Manhattan already for “Shades Of Blue,” and plans on returning to Los Angeles when production wraps on season two.
But more importantly, Lopez isn’t bringing her life to the Great White Way. Gossip Cop is exclusively told the Broadway claims are false.
