VIDEO: Jennifer Lawrence Sings, Takes Over As Host During Great Letterman Visit
Jennifer Lawrence is an absurdly entertaining talk show guest. The actress appeared on Wednesday’s “Late Show with David Letterman,” and it’s worth posting several clips from the duo’s eventful interview, which included Lawrence doing the thing she hates most: singing in public.
The star has to sing in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, which Lawrence tells Letterman is her “biggest fear” because she’s “scarred” from bad experiences when her parents encouraged her to sing as a child. “I had this tone-deaf Amy Winehouse voice, and I sang in front of the school when I was eight, because I thought I could,” she explains. Lawrence and Letterman then sing a memorable duet of “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas,” like you’ve never heard it before.
During her visit, Lawrence also does a Chris Farley impression, talks about being loopy on antibiotics from a recent illness, revisits her experience with colonics, whispers a story about her foul-mouthed friend that Letterman can’t repeat to the audience, and nervously bites on her necklace and walks out with him when the interview begins to go off the rails.
At that point, Lawrence returns and sits behind Letterman’s desk, taking over hosting duties and introducing her own The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 scene. Then she and Letterman watch an old bowling clip. It all makes sense. Check out the videos below, and tell us what you think. Note: Videos no longer available.
