Did Jennifer Lawrence rip her dress in two at the SAG Awards on Sunday?

That’s what many were wondering after the actress caught her Dior gown on someone’s chair as she made her way up to the stage to accept the Best Actress trophy for Silver Linings Playbook.

After her misstep, Lawrence’s dress seemed to separate in two (photo right).

However, by the time the star made it up on stage, her gown was completely intact.

So, what happened?

Our friends over at Styleite noted that Lawrence’s dress features two distinct pieces connected by a sheer lining, and when the clothing was caught on the chair, the two tiers momentarily separated.

    She could have pneumonia if it was walking/atypical pneumonia. It’s not as severe, and sometimes unless a doctor tells you otherwise people with it think they just have a cold. It’s still pneumonia though. And the dress looked great on her. Who cares if she had a small mishap? She sure didn’t.

    The gown suited her perfectly, she was beautiful, but more important, she’s beautiful inside, she’s warm, funny and easygoing aside from a really talented and versatile actress. She’s sweeping all the awards! Congrats Jennifer, you deserve it!!

    Excuse me but pneumonia isn’t a laughing matter. You get lung sensitivity for a lifetime, once you get pneumonia. I hope she had just the flu.

    She’s a terrific actress, wonderful in the role–and Jessica Chastain should have won. Chastain is the whold show and simply fierce in Zero Dark Thirty.

    Agreed. But walking pneumonia is still pneumonia, just not as severe. So it’s still possible for her to have had pneumonia and have been able to attend the awards. I wasn’t saying people can self-diagnose themsevles as having pneumonia, just that there are different types and being able to walk around doesn’t mean she can’t possibly have a type of penumonia.

    Excuse me but I never said pneumonia was a laughing matter. I just said that walking pneumonia usually isn’t as severe (meaning the symptoms) as other types and that she could have had it and still been able attend the awards. I did not at any point say that pneumonia isn’t serious or say that it was no big deal. Just that it’s possible for her to have some type of it and not be bedridden because of it. And not everyone who gets pneumonia ends up with lung sensitivity for life, just an fyi. Some do and some don’t depending on how severe their case was.

    Was certainly not saying she didn’t have, I cannot know as I am not her doctor. Was merely stating a medical fact. There various degrees of pneumonia, she may well have it and still be able to go out a bit. She certainly seemed to be careful to not be contagious when she went to the GG.

    So since I’m not a doctor I can’t possibly know anything about penumonia? When I had penumonia I asked my doctor about it. That’s where i got my info from. Call me crazy but I’m the type of person who likes to know exactly what I’m being diagnosed with. Even if I hadn’t asked him though all of this information is on the internet as well. Google magic, my friend. Welcome to the 21st century.
