Jennifer Lawrence Shoots Down “Terrible Rumor” About David O. Russell Fight
Jennifer Lawrence did NOT get into a nuclear argument with film director David O. Russell on the set of their film movie Joy, despite a widespread report. On Friday, the Oscar-winning actress set the record straight on Facebook, writing, “I know I don’t go on here a lot because I can barely work email but there’s been a terrible rumor going around the last 24 hours so I wanted to clear it up.”
“David O. Russell is one of my closest friends and we have an amazing collaborative working relationship,” continued Lawrence, who previously worked with him on Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle. She added, “I adore this man and he does not deserve this tabloid malarkey. The movie is going great and I’m having a blast making it!”
Earlier on Friday, TMZ claimed an on-set “eyewitness” heard Russell screaming and yelling at Lawrence during a scene that was shot on Tuesday. The generally reliable site’s source called the exchange “ear-piecing and laced with profanities.” A rep for the studio, however, immediately denied the report, noting that Russell and Lawrence were simply rehearsing for an upcoming scene in which the actress had to scream at someone. What do you think about Lawrence’s statement?
