Jennifer Hudson Pays Tribute To ‘American Idol’ Before Series Finale (PHOTO)
Jennifer Hudson posted an “American Idol” throwback photo on Instagram on Thursday to pay tribute to the iconic singing competition show that launched her career. As Gossip Cop reported, the Season 3 contestant will be returning to perform during next week’s series finale. See Hudson’s nostalgic picture below!
“It’s almost that time!” Hudson wrote alongside a 2004 photo of her and fellow Season 3 finalists. “Millions didn’t make it but thank God I was one of the ones who did! Can’t believe it’s the last season and it’s been almost over 10 years since season 3 of American idol! My how time goes by. Young Jhud.” Hudson didn’t win her season, but she’s the only contestant in the show’s history who can claim the title of Oscar-winner. The singer took home the award for Best Supporting Actress in 2006 for her role in Dreamgirls.
As Gossip Cop previously noted, the three-night grand finale of “American Idol” will kick off with a 90-Minute retrospective looking back at some of the best moments from the show’s past 15 seasons. The following night will be taped live and feature the current season’s finalists’ last-ever performances prior to the final votes being tallied.
And then on the final night of the TV event, Hudson will return to the stage along with many former stars from past seasons, including Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Clay Aiken, and Katharine McPhee. The “American Idol” three-night grand finale kicks off on April 5. Check out Hudson’s Season 3 throwback photo below!
