Jennifer Hudson Won Karaoke Contest At Bowling Alley (VIDEO)
Jennifer Hudson may not have won “American Idol,” but during her appearance on Friday’s “Graham Norton Show,” the singer revealed she recently won a karaoke contest at a bowling alley. Watch the video below!
During a guest spot on the British talk show to promote her role in Adam Sandler’s new Netflix movie, Sandy Wexler, Hudson explained how she “started out singing in contests” as a kid. The singer noted that she and her friend “would go and win all the talent shows,” so they recently decided to “try our hand at it again” for old time’s sake.
Hudson described discovering a karaoke contest at a “random bowling alley” in Florida not too long ago, and revealed, “I actually won. They didn’t know I was Jennifer Hudson. They were like, ‘You just won $75!'” The singer further related that the staff at the bowling alley told her, “Come back next week, it will be even more money,” to which she gleefully responded, “I will be back!”
Unfortunately, Hudson didn’t have the same luck when she finished in seventh place on Season 3 of “American Idol” back in 2004. Regardless, the singer went on to become one of the most successful alumni from the reality competition show, even winning Best Supporting Actress at the 2006 Oscars for her role in Dreamgirls. Watch a highlight below from Hudson’s “Graham Norton Show” appearance.
