UPDATE – 6/28/10 – 2:00PM

Troubled former tennis star Jennifer Capriati overdosed on prescription medications, according to her family.

Capriati’s family was not specific about the nature of the prescriptions, but tell TMZ she is “recuperating at a South Florida hospital from an accidental overdose of medication prescribed to Jen by her personal physicians.

Jennifer Capriati, former teen tennis phenom and one-time world’s no. 1 player, was rushed to a Florida hospital early Sunday after a possible drug overdose, according to a report.

TMZ reports that paramedics responded to a call from a Riviera Beach hotel and transported Capriati to a nearby hospital. Her father tells the site she’s recovering well.

Capriati was arrested for marijuana possession in 1994.

She won the women’s singles gold medal at the 1992 Olympics, and, after a comeback, three Grand Slam singles titles.
