Jennifer Aniston NOT Given “Cold Shoulder” From “Friends” Co-Stars At Reunion, Despite Report (EXCLUSIVE)
Jennifer Aniston was NOT given the “cold shoulder” by her “Friends” co-stars at the so-called “reunion” taping, despite a mean-spirited and inaccurate report from one of the tabloids. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the claim.
The story can be found in the pages of this week’s National Enquirer, which writes, “The long-awaited ‘Friends’ reunion planned for NBC on Feb. 21 was really a gathering of enemies!” According to the supermarket tabloid’s so-called “sources,” Aniston was “pushed into the shadows” by her former cast mates. It’s even said “the biggest shove came from David Schwimmer,” who “kept his distance.”
“Jen hasn’t kept in touch with David. When they met up for the special, it was really awkward,” one supposed “source” claims, going on to allege, “David refused to sit next to Jennifer! Jen got the cold shoulder. She was hurt.”
The alleged tipster further says, “She felt like an outsider! Lisa Kudrow sat close to David, and Courteney Cox was next to Matt LeBlanc… but Jen felt so out of place.” Gossip Cop would venture, however, that these claims are based on little more than the previously released teaser of the cast on stage, even though it would be up to the director and producers where each star was placed.
One is also to wonder, if this drama supposedly went down, why has no other outlet reported it? Furthermore, if the Aniston snubs really happened, why is the National Enquirer first running the allegations nearly a month after the taping? Here what’s really going on: The “reunion,” part of a tribute for director James Burrows, is set to air this weekend.
The magazine decided to sensationalize the gathering, made Aniston the target, and wanted to appear “in the know” since the program will be broadcast on Sunday. But the tabloid has almost never been accurate when it comes to Aniston, having spent the last few years making up wedding, baby, and breakup tales. There was even a story last year that outrageously (and wrongly) claimed Aniston and LeBlanc had an affair during the show’s heyday.
It’s telling that that isn’t mentioned in this new piece. The National Enquirer has also been caught telling lies about Cox, too. Because that’s what the outlet does: spreads misinformation in hopes people will fall for it, accuracy be damned. In this case, a rep for Aniston exclusively slams the “cold shoulder” allegations to Gossip Cop as pure “nonsense.”
