Jennifer Aniston “Career In Crisis” After “Mother’s Day” Bombs?
Jennifer Aniston’s career is not in “crisis” because Mother’s Day is bombing as the box office, despite a report. Gossip Cop can correct the sensational story.
The mean-spirited RadarOnline writes, “Jennifer Aniston was at her peak when she received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in Cake. But the actress’s career has taken a nosedive, as her latest film has not been well received by critics!” The site points to the low ratings Mother’s Day has received on Rotten Tomatoes, and quotes some of the poor reviews that have been published.
But how is Aniston’s career now in “crisis”? Does the failure of one ensemble film mean she won’t get cast in future movies? No. Are the star’s other projects now put on hold? Nope. Is her legacy ruined? Of course not.
There is no “nosedive” because one movie, which was filled with other A-listers, isn’t succeeding. If that was the case, surely the careers of Mother’s Day co-stars Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson and Jason Sudeikis would be in “crisis,” too. But RadarOnline doesn’t have a story about any of them.
The webloid just wanted to make Aniston look bad, but provided no context for how this one movie fits into her overarching filmography. And there’s no actual evidence given whatsoever to prove Aniston’s career is in “crisis.” The outlet ends its piece by asking readers if they think the actress’ career “can be revived.” But it’s RadarOnline that could use redemption.
