Jennifer Aniston Cancels Appearance Due To John Mayer Song Rumors?

The New York Daily News reports that Jennifer Aniston canceled an awards appearance on Wednesday due to rumors that John Mayer’s latest song is about her.

The paper writes, “The eternal beauty was scheduled to accept an award at the Television Academy Honors ceremony on behalf of ‘Five,’ — the breast cancer movie anthology that she produced and helped direct — but on Tuesday she dropped out.”

An insider for the outlet attributes Aniston’s absence to her ex-boyfriend Mayer’s new single, “Shadow Days,” which Us Weekly claimed is about their 2009 breakup.

The supposed source says the Wanderlust star backed out of the ceremony because she ”was feeling ill at the prospect of being peppered with questions on the subject.”

Really?

Not quite.

If Aniston was really wary of being pestered about the Mayer rumor, all she would have to do is skip the red carpet portion of the evening.

Actors do it all the time.

A Television Academy insider tells Gossip Cop Aniston the real reason she canceled was “because she came down with a virus.”

    I think it so sad that she would not go to an awards ceremony honoring her due to a song that may or may not be about her. What a slap in the face to the people who chose to honor her. Leave it to Jennifer Aniston to turn a man releasing his new album into publicity for herself. And why is John Mayer being trashed for this. Musicians write songs mostly from things that happened in their lives or things that have effected them. All musicians draw from their personal lives so why is John Mayer such a bad guy for doing so? I think it’s so sad that the only way this woman can generate publicity for herself is by making her ex out to be a bad guy. I don’t blame John one bit for dumping her. The whole time she was with him she was still pining away for Brad Pitt. That so so evident at the Oscars. If I was John I would have left her at the Oscars alone. Can’t blame the guy when the girl he is with is just focusing on her ex the whole night. I hope this song will be a farewell to Jennifer for all of us. We are all so tired of this whiney bag of piss.

    Marta Kauffman accepted the award and said that Jennifer wasn’t there because she was sick.

    How very sad that Jennifer would snub an award that was being presented to her over a release of John Mayer’s song. I actually feel bad for John Mayer. He has been the victim of such unfair publicity and press mostly by the hand of team Jennifer Aniston. I think it’s a disgrace. I also think it is so pathetic on Jennifer’s part that she has to resort to bad mouthing or making her ex’s and her ex’s wife look bad in order to gain publicity for herself. Jennifer’s 15 minutes were up when Friends ended and Brad Pitt dumped her. Jennifer should just do us all a favor and retire from public life.

    It is so sad that “Team Aniston” has to rely on cheap publicity stunts like this to get her publicity. Must be because her movies are unmemorable. Jennifer’s 15 minutes ended when Friends was over and Brad Pitt dumped her. She never loved John or any other man because she is still to this day pining away for her ex husband. John is a talented musician who has been played by the press very unfairly. His only fault is his incredibly poor taste in the women he dates. Rumor has it he has given up on dating celebrities or women in the public eye. That may be a very good choice John.
