Jennie Garth opened up about her divorce from Peter Facinelli on Friday’s “Ellen.”

The actress and reality TV star told Ellen DeGeneres that while she’s not exactly thrilled to discuss the split, “It’s something that’s going on in my life… and I think by being open and honest about what I’m going through, maybe it helps somebody else.”

Garth said she had initial doubts that she’d be able to get through the upheaval, but she learned, “I’m so much stronger than I thought I was.”

As for her future relationship with Facinelli, Garth says, ”We’re still a family of some kind. We’re still so committed to being there for our girls, that’s the most important thing for us.”

    I heard the ratings for her show are really, really low. So she won’t shut up about the divorce.

    If she’s really hurt by it, I don’t understand why’d she torture herself by talking about it repeatedly. All she has to do is say that its still too fresh to talk about. This split was seen coming for a while. It’s sad but it’s not like they’re fighting and going through some nasty divorce. Why not stay quiet and let the initial shock and even the divorce itself pass.

    She NEVER said a word until it was time for her new show. Peter hasn’t really talked about it since. She still is.

    She goes on about “helping” other women.. Yes, she’s getting a divorce but it’s not like she’s hard up for money, her ex is still going to be in her life/help raise the children and she’s still in the business and making money.. as opposed to some women who’s ex leaves them high and dry with nothing, no support and doesn’t help raise children. I don’t see how that’ll help other women. Just my opinion.

    Your on a team about a celebrity marriage breakup? Sorry if this offends you but you don’t really have any right to be on a team. You have no idea what really went on in their relationship. You don’t know either of these people. There is no law that says she can’t talk about her private life. Maybe she is the one who has nothing to hide and Peters silence speaks volumes about the fact that he wants no spotlight on what part he played in the break up. The point is no one knows what went on and it’s rather silly to pick a side. During a marriage break up normally both people play a significant role in some way shape and form. So what is the point in taking a side. If she wants to talk about it let her, from what I have heard she hasn’t said one bad word about him. It’s a different story if she was out their bashing him as a Father and husband, but so far I haven’t seen that.

    People, don’t be cruel to her, it’s the hell hard thing to go through. She’s right to talk about it, first: because people get divorced often and many women are miserable and need support. Second: the best way to bust a bad dish is to speak. And third: look at her! She’s almost crying! It’s men who keep the silence, they suffer with their mouths shut, but you can’t expect the same from a woman. Usually women talk about it all over again – it’s natural for them. A man says 2.000 words a day, a woman – 7.000 words a day, and if someting goes wrong, then, maybe, 14.000 or 21.000. It’s the way womans’ brain works, get deal with it. If you don’t want women to talk too much – make them happy.

    The facts are the more you talk about something the more you release it! So she is in a way doing therapy! I am glad she is talking about her divorce! I think is sad that we don’t want to let some one share what they have been through as it might help some one else know that what they are feeling and doing is normal! I wish them all happiness!
