Jena Irene Called “Hard to Beat” After “Brilliant” Top 3 Idol Performance (VIDEO)
Jene Irene proved twice is more than nice when she got a standing ovation for her “Creep” reprise on “American Idol” on Wednesday. For the Top 3 Night, the finalist also performed “Titanium” by David Guetta and Sia. She took on “Heart Attack” by Demi Lovato as well. But Irena didn’t get the judges on their feet until she performed her incredible version of the Radiohead classic.
Harry Connick Jr. told her afterward, “We heard you sing this song once before and it was brilliant. Here it is again, even better than the last time you sang it.” “It’s a great way to end the show,” he added.
Keith Urban said, “The only thing I disagree with is at the end you [sang] ‘you don’t belong here’ — you so belong here.” He went on, “Your progress from the audition cities to here has been mind-blowing.” And Jennifer Lopez told the 17-year-old singer, “I just feel like you’re going to be so hard to beat.”
Irene is among just three singers remaining in the competition, and the lone female contestant left. She faced off against Caleb Johnson and Alex Preston.
