Emily Maynard is engaged!

“The Bachelorette” finale on Sunday featured the long-awaited proposal – but who got down on one knee and slipped a ring on the single mom’s finger?

Read on to find out whether Jef Holm or Arie Luydendyk ultimately won Maynard’s heart.

SPOILER ALERT

The finale begins with all three still in Curacao, with Emily’s daughter Ricki also now in the tropical locale along with her parents.

Emily’s family is understandably skeptical, given Emily’s broken engagement with former “Bachelor” Brad Womack, but finds both Jef and Arie to be impressive.

On Jef’s final date, he convinces Emily to let him meet Ricki, and the three of them have a great, pool-filled time together.

In fact, it goes so well, that Emily is left sure that Jef will be “the best dad and the best husband” – and later tells host Chris Harrison that her mind is made up.

Arie is taken aback when Emily shows up to their final date and almost immediately bursts into tears.

“I felt like it was going to be me and you, and I don’t know anymore,” she tells him, later explaining that she has more “confidence with Jef.”

Arie, clearly a combination of shocked and annoyed, tells her, “Thank you for sparing me the embarrassment tomorrow,” inadvertently revealing he was ready to propose.

Emily is left distraught – but wakes up the next morning feeling quite happy with her decision and goes to meet Jef.

After telling him he is her “soul mate,” Emily reveals she dumped Arie before they even went on their last date.

Jef declares his love for her and gets down on one knee to propose.

“Emily, will you marry me?” he asks.

She hesitates a few beats… but says yes!

I knew it. I said it here if she chose someone it would be Jef. I liked Arire. I must say that Ricky could pass for Jef’s daughter.

I am not crazy about Emily, something about her comes off insincere.

After just seeing Arie on “after the rose” I like him even more and have respect for him. He’s not only good looking but seem to be a great guy and genuine. Maybe he should should be the next bachelor.

Funny, when I watched “after the rose” I lost respect for Arie. This was a guy who refused accept that Emily didn’t pick him and crossed the line after. She DID tell him that she preferred Jef when she broke it off with him, but he still went through and tried to make her change her mind after she went home. And we clearly didn’t get the whole story of what he tired to do, but I won’t buy for one moment that he simply talked to Jef to “check on how Emily was doing.” He was checking to see if Emily and Jef were still happy or if he had a chance to spring in and make a move. I’m glad Jef called him (and probably gently told him to BACK OFF). I will not watch if Arie is the next Bachelor—that sounds like the next Jake Pavelka in the making.

Of course, I do feel harsh saying these things. For all I know, he could be a perfectly great person. But that’s not how he came off on television.

I guess we saw it differently. I hope he’s not like Jake Pavelka. I started watching and stopped I couldn’t stand him. I didn’t get that feleling about Arie.

WTG, Gossip Cop. Fortunately, I don’t watch this show, but for those who do, posting a “spoiler alert” in the body of the article isn’t helpful if you’ve already blabbed in the article title. If I were a fan and hadn’t had a chance to watch my DVR for this, I’d be PISSED! LOLOL!

I started really liking Jake on the Bachelorette, then the Bachelor and I was so sorry for him when he chose Vienna. But as time went on and he started to show his true colours, I didn’t feel so sorry for him any more. I ended up really disliking him (still not as much as Vienna, mind you) but I did not like him. I hope Arie doesn’t turn out the same way.

I started out wanting Arie to end up with Emily. I didn’t change my mind until the past two weeks when Jef showed what a great guy he is. He is great with Ricky and fits into Emily’s family very well. His family also liked Emily, but we still don’t know anything about his parents. Hope it all works out well for them because I really can see them married and happy. Jef has said he will move to North Carolina and I think that was the source of a lot of problems for Emily and Brad. Anyway, I wish them the best of luck and hope they are the next Trista and Ryan.

Curious….if Jef is so gosh darn serious about this why is there no mention about Emily meeting his parents? And being from Utah and watching his seemingly close-knit family relationship with his brothers I am shocked that they never appeared on camera. Emily’s parents traveled abroad just to met him…something is a little suspect here.

Is there anybody who really care? The success rate on these shows is ridiculously low

I think that Emily did the right thing, for her, by choosing Jeff. I have been impressed with her true common sense all along, by making the right choices. She and Jeff are really cut from the same cloth. They are serious, and have common sense, but have fun, too. He does look “youngish” in the face, but if you really look at him, he has a great body, and a strong, square jaw, and will grow into his looks as he matures. They are both in their 20′s, but Jeff comes from a Mormon background which is very family-oriented, and serious about that. They will be rocks for each other.

Won’t last… This guy is so GAY !! They are probably just friends. There is no chemistry and they will probably just end up sharing fashion and hair care tips.
