Jay Z Did NOT Wear Bulletproof Vest To NBA Finals, Despite Report
Jay Z did NOT wear a bulletproof vest to the NBA Finals on Thursday night, despite a made-up webloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”
According to the repeatedly discredited MediaTakeOut, Game 6 of the NBA Finals was delayed as a direct result of Jay Z and Beyonce’s “heightened security” requirements. The site then claims that Ayesha Curry, wife of Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, tweeted about the music superstars holding up the game.
However, this is a blatant lie. Curry simply tweeted, “10 mins til game time and the whole teams families are sitting here on a bus. They won’t let us in yet.” She made absolutely no mention of Jay Z and Beyonce, or even insinuated in the slightest that they were responsible for the postponement.
Nevertheless, MediaFakeOut still blames the rapper and his wife, claiming that in light of the tragic Orlando shooting, the couple’s security team held up the game while making sure the venue was secure. The webloid also alleges that Jay Z was wearing a bulletproof vest, though Beyonce was not.
Gossip Cop, however, checked in with a source close to the situation, who exclusively assures us that the rapper wasn’t wearing armor underneath his clothing, nor did his security team delay Game 6. We’re told the webloid’s claim is simply “not true.”
Of course, Gossip Cop has corrected MTO on numerous occasions for inaccurately reporting about Jay Z. In the past, we have busted the site for wrongly claiming the rapper was on steroids, that he slapped Kanye West in the face, and at another time punched Pharrell. This latest bulletproof vest story is similarly full of holes.
