The second time was a charm for Jay Leno, who handily beat rival David Letterman and the combo of “Nightline” and Jimmy Kimmel.

According to NBC’s early numbers, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” topped “Late Show with David Letterman” and the ABC lineup of “Nightline” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” by an astounding 80 percent.

So do you think Leno is again the late night ratings king or was last night’s numbers just a curiosity? Let Gossip Cop know you thoughts in the comments section.

Looks like Jay took home the late-night equivalent of this (http://www.jewelry.com/2010-02-jn-olympic-jewelry.shtml) despite being a totally unfunny toolbag.

    Much much better than Conan!

Won’t last. He is and always will be BORING! NBC will realize that they made a huge mistake in about a year when “Golden Girls” reruns are beating Leno. Oh and i’m not a huge O’Brien fan either…I just thought what NBC did was crappy.

I think it was curiosity, just like the first week of his 10pm show. Then the ratings dropped. I’ll only watch when he has guests who interest me. I’m still ticked over the whole Conan thing.
