REPORT: Javier Bardem Offered Role in Next ‘Bond’ Film

By Michael Lewittes

Javier Bardem has reportedly been offered a role in the next James Bond film opposite Daniel Craig.

It is believed Bardem would play a villain, reports Deadline.

Bardem clearly has a talent for evil characters. He won an Oscar for his murderous character in No Country For Old Men.

The as-yet titled 23rd Bond film, being directed by Sam Mendes, is slated for release on November 9, 2012.

While Bardem, recently nominated for an Academy Award for Biutiful, was offered the Bond role, there’s still no word as to whether he’ll accept the part.

A little more than a week ago, Bardem and wife Penelope Cruz welcomed a son.
