Jared Leto Reveals He’s Fasting For Role, Shows Off Startling Weight Loss (PICS)

Jared Leto is following in Dallas Buyer’s Club co-star Matthew McConaughey’s footsteps — and dropping a lot of weight for his role in the upcoming project.

Much has been made of McConaughey’s skinny appearance in recent weeks, and now Leto has revealed that he’s fasting to play a transsexual woman in the film.

“Your body goes through weird stages,” he tells Vulture. “Sometimes it’s hard to hold on to water. But for me, it’s not about the most weight I can lose, it’s more to represent the character. I’m focused on what it means to be a transsexual woman.”

Leto has also waxed his legs and shaved off his eyebrows for the transformative part.
