Busting bad dish!

Is ‘X-Men’ Director Matthew Vaughn the Father of January Jones’ Baby?

Truth rating: 0

(X17 Online)

The January Jones baby daddy mystery is still unsolved, despite false reports spread by outlets like X17 Online.

According to the site, Jones’ X-Men: First Class director, Matthew Vaughn, “may be the father” of her child.

Vaughn is married to Claudia Schiffer, with whom he “reportedly left [his] rented Beverly Hills home around the exact time” Jones revealed the pregnancy.

Wow, that’s some pretty powerful evidence of… absolutely nothing.

But wait!

“Sources close to the X-Men production have also revealed that it’s unlikely there will be an X-Men: First Class premiere,” reports the site.

So because there won’t be a public event with Jones and Vaughn on the same red carpet… he must have fathered her kid?

In any case, the report is totally false.

Vaughn attorney’s Marty Singer calls the story an outright lie.

Once again, “X” fails to mark the spot for facts.

Interesting that your blurb mentions only X17, which is only the most recent media outlet to report this rumor, following eonline (which had a comment from Vaughn’s attorney yesterday), the NY Daily News, and the UK Daily Mail.

If you’re going to be a “gossip cop”, you need to do better research before pointing a finger at a single source.

Do you see a denial in the X17 piece? Exactly.

  • No

There are denials in every media piece on this rumor. What’s your point?

Not in the x17 piece. Get it?

    Second sentence.

“Vaughn, who’s currently married to model Claudia Schiffer, has denied that he is the father, however sources tell E! Online that Vaughn and Jones had a “very close” relationship on set.”

Why isn’t this site pointing the finger at eonline, or at the NYDN or at the Mail? They all had the story earlier.

X17 didn’t run with this first – they’re pretty late to the game. So why them? Sloppy research, lazy reporting or simply going after a gossip site because it’s an easier target than a perhaps more “legitimate” media source that published the same rumor?

The GC story reads: “Sites LIKE X17″, so they’re not just talking about them.

I’m sure there is no drama behind who her baby daddy is. She’s just using this for attention.

I find it’s best to question all gossip posted on the internet, particularly on a site that purports to question the validity of gossip on the internet yet appears to be selective in the sites it targets. Mentioning by name only one site that basically reposted a rumor originally on a different site makes you go ‘hmm’.

Back to babydaddy, is it Vaughn? Maybe, maybe not. Skipping his own movie premiere of a tentpole franchise is certainly eyebrow-raising, but hardly conclusive.
