Janet Jackson “Doing Well,” Thanks Fans For Prayers
Janet Jackson returned to Twitter on Saturday to let fans know she’s “doing well.” She also extended thanks for “love and prayers.”
Since stepping away from the spotlight during her pregnancy, Jackson has only used Twitter sporadically. But today she tweeted for the first time in nearly three months. “Hey you guys.. It’s been awhile.. but I’m still listening.. I feel your love and prayers.. Thank you.. and I’m doing well.. Al Hamdu lillah,” she wrote.
The last part is Arabic for “praise be to god,” and is a commonly-used phrase among Muslims. In October, Jackson made a rare public appearance, stepping out in London in what was seen as traditional Muslim clothing. That led RadarOnline to claim the garb had upset her famous family, who was supposedly worried the expectant star was “making herself a target” for a terrorist attack by wearing Muslim clothing.
Jackson’s safety, however, was not in jeopardy, and the webloid failed to acknowledge that she was in a city that actually has a Muslim mayor and a sizeable Muslim population. The site has also published several reports alleging the singer has been “miserable” throughout her pregnancy. But as her own tweet indicates, Jackson is actually “doing well.” That said, she gave no indication as to when her baby is due. Gossip Cop will continue to have updates as appropriate.”
