Janel Parrish Kills Val Chmerkovskiy During Pretty Little Liars-Inspired Dance On Dancing With The Stars — WATCH VIDEO!
Janel Parrish performed a creepy Viennese waltz inspired by her hit show “Pretty Little Liars” during Monday’s “Dancing With the Stars” Halloween special.
Parrish, who plays Mona Vanderwaal on the ABC series, put a spin on her conniving character for the spooktacular routine. The actress and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy paid tribute to her fans by dancing to the show’s theme song, “Secret” by the The Pierces.
“‘Pretty Little Liars’ is so perfect for this Halloween week because it is a creepy, crazy show and I play this kind of crazy, villainess character,” Parrish noted during rehearsals. Last week, guest judge Pitbull told the duo that they lacked passion during their samba, so the actress really embraced her character as she practiced “killing” Chmerkovskiy over and over again.
“Let me say, it is going to be really fun to kill Val,” she said of the shocking end to her performance. “It is going to be violent, but only because my character would kill him violently. Not me. I’m sweet.”
Carrie Ann Inaba complimented Parrish’s “fluidity of motion,” while Bruno Tonioli told the star that she was “dressed to kill.” Julianne Hough was booed by the audience when she told the pair that their dance was “beautiful,” but they were missing a “proper” Viennese waltz. Len Goodman also called it a “beautiful dance” but agreed that it wasn’t a Viennese waltz. Parrish and Chmerkovskiy scored 31 out 40.
