Jane Lynch People’s Choice Awards Video: Watch Musical PCAs Opening!
Jane Lynch opened the 2016 People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday with a musical number. Watch below!
Lynch started by singing a parody of “Shut Up And Dance With Me,” in which she substituted the words with “Stand Up And Choose With Me.” She also briefly did the Whip/Nae Nae. The premise of her “Stand Up And Choose With Me” song-and-dance routine was that people choose everything, including who the winners are at the People’s Choice Awards.
After singing, Lynch cracked a few jokes in her opening, as well as pointed out that Ellen DeGeneres was going to be honored with the “Favorite Humanitarian” award. Among Lynch’s remarks was that she was qualified to be the host because she can sing and dance, and is like Neil Patrick Harris, but “slightly more masculine.”
Lynch, of course, is best known for “Glee,” but stars in the new CBS comedy “Angel From Hell,” which will premiere on Thursday. The star, who won Favorite TV Comedy Actress at the PCAs in 2011, was announced as the host for this year’s ceremony in October. The 2016 nominations were unveiled in November, after which fans could vote online for the winners. Now Lynch’s entertaining opening kicked off the two-hour ceremony during which the results would finally be revealed.
