Stars Pay Tribute To Jan Hooks
Celebrities are taking to Twitter to pay tribute to Jan Hooks. As Gossip Cop reported, a rep for the “Saturday Night Live” star said she died on Thursday at age 57. She was reportedly battling a serious illness.
With a varied career that took her from “SNL” to “Designing Women” to “30 Rock,” Hooks amassed many fans over the years. Now those in Hollywood are sharing their condolences and memories. Former co-star Jon Lovitz says, “This is very, very sad news about Jan. She was easily one of the best comedic actresses to be on ‘SNL.'” “Whenever she and Phil Hartman worked together, it was magic. As Jim and Tammy Faye Baker on Church Chat with Dana Carvey, the three of them created one of the best sketches, ever, in the history of ‘SNL,'” the actor says in a statement. “She was terrific to work with and a very, very nice person. I will miss her very much. Peace and prayers to her family and friends.”
And admirer Amy Poehler says, “I was 15 years old when I first saw Jan Hooks on ‘SNL.’ All of her characters spoke to me. She was one of the greats.” “When I was at SNL, we would frequently talk about her genius. This has been a sh*tty couple of months for comedy,” Poehler says in her statement.
