Jamie Lynn Spears’ Daughter Maddie Returns Home After ATV Accident
Jamie Lynn Spears’ 8-year-old daughter Maddie Aldridge returned home from a New Orleans children’s hospital on Friday after recovering from an ATV accident in which she nearly drowned. See a photo below.
As Gossip Cop reported, Maddie was driving a Polaris off-road vehicle on the family’s property in Kentwood, Louisiana last Sunday when she swerved to avoid a drainage ditch, and then flipped into a pond strapped inside the vehicle. Spears and other family members jumped into the water to try and save her, but their efforts were unsuccessful. The young girl spent several minutes underwater until paramedics arrived and were able to free her.
After spending two days unconscious and on a ventilator, Maddie miraculously woke up Tuesday. A family friend gave Gossip Cop an exclusive update on Maddie’s condition at the time, telling that the young girl was “doing wonderfully.” And on Friday, Spears’ husband and the girl’s step-father, Jamie Watson, posted an Instagram photo revealing that the trio were leaving the hospital by helicopter.
“Thanks to the amazing first responders, and medical teams at University and Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, LA, we are headed home with our baby girl as she continues to recover,” wrote Watson. “Above all else we are so thankful for each and every prayer, because we know that is what truly made the difference. Thank you again to everyone. We are truly blessed.” See the photo below.
UPDATE: Shortly after the news broke that Maddie was leaving the hospital, her aunt Britney Spears wrote on Twitter, “So grateful that Maddie was able to go home today.. it’s truly a miracle. Our prayers were heard, and they were answered! Thank you so much for all of you love and support this week. My family appreciates it more than you will ever know.”
