Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are NOT feuding on the set of Fifty Shades Darker, despite a new tabloid report. Gossip Cop can correct the claim.

The allegation can be found in the new issue of Life & Style, which features the headline, “Dakota & Jamie: Fighting On The Fifty Shades Set.” It’s said in the accompanying story, “Life definitely didn’t imitate art on the set of the hotly anticipated Fifty Shades of Grey sequel, Fifty Shades Darker.” Of course, it would be problematic if life DID imitate art, since Dornan is married.

But while he and Johnson “get hot and heavy on-screen,” a so-called “insider” is quoted as telling the magazine, “They really can’t stand each other. They bickered over the smallest things.” And, claims the outlet, “for the sake of the franchise, producers had to step in.” The supposed source alleges, “They tried to smooth the way for Jamie and Dakota to get along. The two of them just couldn’t hide their contempt for one another.”

But it strikes Gossip Cop as odd that these allegations are coming out now when filming on Fifty Shades Darker, as well as its follow-up, Fifty Shades Freed, wrapped in late July. That’s two months ago. Surely if there were problems on the set, such claims would have surfaced during the production, not well after the fact.

Indeed, just days after the shoot ended, Dornan appeared on “GMA,” where he said of Johnson, “We have a lot of fun together. Dakota’s funny. We’ve been through this mad journey together. I’m very thankful that I’ve done it with someone who’s easy to do it with, because it could’ve been a very different experience had we not got on.”

That’s pretty much the opposite of the Life & Style story. In any case, the respective reps for Dornan and Johnson both deny any feuding between the co-stars.
