Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson NOT “Heating Up” In Real Life, Despite Report
Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are not “more than co-stars,” despite a ridiculous new OK! story claiming the Fifty Shades of Grey leads are “heating up” off screen. Gossip Cop can debunk this report, which is insulting to the happily married Dornan and based on empty speculation.
“They can’t get the other out of their minds,” a so-called “insider” tells the tabloid, adding, “The more comfortable they became on set, the closer they grew emotionally. It was great for the movie — but not for their real lives.” According to OK!, following some early chemistry problems during filming, Dornan and Johnson were asked to reshoot scenes to show more passion, and that’s when sparks supposedly flew.
OK! claims Dornan and Johnson’s “connection was real — and operating on a deeper level than either of them wanted to admit.” Because Dornan is married to Amelia Warner (with whom he has a young daughter), this allegedly caused problems. The magazine’s insider says “trust issues” developed in Dornan’s marriage because of his relationship with Johnson.
“Both Dakota and Jamie are convinced they aren’t doing anything wrong, because they haven’t taken it to the next level,” explains the OK! source. “But they know they’re in dangerous territory.” OK! even includes a sidebar showing three examples of movie pairs who became real-life couples: Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, and Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield.
Apparently, the fact that those people fell in love means Dornan and Johnson had similar real-life feelings for each other. It’s ridiculous and 100 percent false. Reps for both Dornan and Johnson flatly reject the OK! report and say there’s nothing to the story. Gossip Cop could have predicted at least one tabloid would try to float this rumor after the huge box office success of Fifty Shades of Grey. It’s not surprising OK! took the bait.
