James White Super Bowl Interviews After Patriots Win (VIDEO)
James White appeared on “GMA” and the “Today” show on Monday, hours after scoring the game-winning touchdown for the New England Patriots during the 2017 Super Bowl. Watch below!
As Gossip Cop reported, the Patriots had an historic comeback over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI, with White’s winning moment coming in overtime. Fresh off the victory, he sat down this morning with Michael Strahan in Houston to discuss the incredible win. “First of all, good morning. Secondly, did you get any sleep?” Strahan asked.
White unsurprisingly admitted that he hadn’t, choosing instead to spend the night celebrating with his team mates. Drafted in 2014, this was already the running back’s second trip to a Super Bowl. “You know that’s not normal, right?” commented Strahan, a Super Bowl winner himself.
“It’s not normal at all,” White agreed. “I don’t take it for granted. I’ve been blessed to be here two times. A lot guys don’t get the opportunity to make it to the playoffs at that. So I don’t take it for granted, and I just want to make the most of the opportunity that I got [last night].” Re-watching his touchdown, he admitted, “It all just feels surreal. It doesn’t even feel real right now.”
For “Today,” the athlete did a remote interview with Matt Lauer and guest anchor Maria Shriver, who were in the morning show’s New York Studio. White said he had “no idea” when the win will sink in, and confessed “everything went into slow-motion” during that final play. “I just wanted to make a smart play, and just do whatever it took to get the ball in the end zone for my team,” he said.
“It was a great team victory. I wanted to win it for all of those guys,” White added, saying of Tom Brady, “He’s definitely the greatest quarterback of all time.” Check out the videos below!
