James Franco Monologue

James Franco opened him “SNL” monologue about how Sony, the studio behind his upcoming film The Interview, was hacked. He then noted that “real personal” information about everyone who works with Sony had their social security numbers and emails leaked. That’s when Seth Rogen (predictably) crashed the monologue and said that the hacker “released private photos from our phones,” including pictures of Rogen wearing control top pantyhose, teaching Franco how to read, the two of them cradling each other in bed like John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Franco fast asleep on the toilet, and the two of them sitting naked on Santa’s lap. The last photo, they said, was going to be their Christmas card (video below).

This is the third time that Franco has hosted “SNL.” The actor made his “SNL” hosting debut back in 2008, alongside musical guests Kings Of Leon. He then returned the following year to host the show with Muse. Of course, Franco has appeared at other times on “SNL,” including making a cameo during Rogen’s monologue last April, during which the host mocked Franco’s attempt to picked up a teenager on Instagram and have her meet him at a hotel.

The actor-director-author is a longtime fan of the sketch comedy show, and even made a short film, while getting his filmmaking degree from NYU in 2008, called Saturday Night that offered a full access look at the behind-the-scenes of show over the course of one week. It was eventually released on the fall of 2014.

Franco’s “SNL” appearance comes just a few weeks before the December 25 release of The Interview.. In the film, Franco plays Dave Skylark the host of a tabloid TV show called “Skylark Tonight,” which happens to be a favorite of North Korea’s Kim Jung Un. After he and his producer (Rogen) incredibly score an upcoming interview with the North Korean dictator, the CIA steps and enlists them to kill him.
