James Franco Uses Caitlyn Jenner Vanity Fair Cover To Sell His Own T-Shirts (PICS)
Franco has been hawking his clothes on social media, posting edited photos to make it look like various celebrities, from Ryan Gosling to Beyoncé, have been wearing his shirts. The t-shirt design is a play off the look of money, with Franco’s image and the message, “IN FRANCO WE TRUST.” The clothing went on sale just a few days ago, the latest offering from the actor’s “James Franco Merchandise” line.
In his Jenner post, Franco photoshopped the Vanity Fair cover to make it look like she was wearing a tank-top version of the shirt. “CAITLYN JENNER knows what’s Up!” Franco wrote in the Instagram caption, adding, “24 hours left for the Limited Shirts! Link in bio.”
While some commenters were amused, other followers slammed Franco for using Jenner’s debut as a woman for his own personal gain. A few also accused the Oscar nominee of being transphobic, though it’s worth noting he’s played a number of gay characters throughout his movie career. Franco has not otherwise commented on Jenner’s transition, unlike dozens of other stars, who, as Gossip Cop reported, praised her on social media throughout Monday. Check out Franco’s post below, and tell us what you think.
