James Corden Praises Bruce Jenner’s Coming Out: “The Most Incredible Thing I’d Seen” — WATCH VIDEO HERE!
As Gossip Cop reported, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon, and Jimmy Kimmel all included jokes making light of Jenner’s transition during their respective monologues last night, but Corden took a different approach. After first quipping, “I genuinely cannot keep up with the Kardashians,” the newest late-night host went on to offer a heartfelt tribute to Jenner in the wake of Friday’s “20/20” special.
“Honestly, I thought it was genuinely one of the most incredible pieces of television that I’ve seen in years. It was amazing,” said Corden. He explained, “Since I got here in January — I never lived in America before — since I got here, it’s felt like this constant thing [with] magazine covers, things, people saying stuff, and I watched the interview and I just thought it was genuinely the most incredible thing I’d seen.”
“Because I thought I will never know, I will never know, so many of us will never know, what it is like to go through such a thing, the life that he’s been trapped in,” continued Corden. “And I thought, the truth is there are people out there for whom the struggle is very real and it’s very hard, very hard, and it’s hard for them and it’s hard for their families.”
Corden then said to loud applause, “Watching it made me think I truly hope after this weekend’s interview, that this world that we live in is a better, more understanding, more educated place for them to live in.” He went on, “We thank you Bruce, we really do, for sharing so openly and so honestly. It was a wonderful thing to watch.” Check out the video below, and tell us what you think of Corden’s segment as compared to those of his fellow TV personalities.
