Jack Cassidy “The Voice” Audition Video: Watch Partridge Family Relative Perform “One Of Us”
Jack Cassidy, a member of the famous “Partridge Family,” auditioned on “The Voice” on Monday’s episode. Check out the video below!
Cassidy is the grandson of “Partridge” matriarch Shirley Jones, his dad is Patrick Cassidy, and his uncles are David and Shaun Cassidy. The 18-year-old is currently a worship leader, and chose the religious-themed “One Of Us,” popularized by Joan Osborne, for his try-out, saying it “hit home” for him. But he seemed most excited that the coaches wouldn’t know his name and would only be judging him on his voice.
Still, he acknowledged wanting to “carry on the family legacy.” Interestingly, he took a risk by singing while playing the piano without any other musical accompaniment. The move impressed both Adam Levine and Alicia Keys, who pushed their buttons. Levine even quipped, “I love that you were playing the keys until Alicia Keys turned around.”
Keys said it was her first time seeing an audition of that nature, and Blake Shelton said he had a “vision” of Cassidy working with her. But with his music tastes in line with Levine’s, the Maroon 5 frontman told him, “Come home, Jack.”
Well, he did not come home. “Adam, I love you, but I pick Alicia,” Cassidy announced. Watch below!
