Jack Antonoff Calls Taylor Swift From Grammys Stage After ‘1989’ Wins Best Pop Vocal Album (VIDEO)
Jack Antonoff, who produced Taylor Swift’s latest album 1989, called the singer from the stage of the 2016 Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony to inform her that they had won the award for Best Pop Vocal Album. Watch the video below!
Approximately 70 awards are handed out at the Grammys Premiere Ceremony, which is held shortly before the main event. Swift was busy rehearsing for her Grammys opening performance, so she couldn’t accept the trophy herself, but Antonoff was happy to take the stage in her place.
During his acceptance speech, Antonoff called Swift to tell her the good news and put his cell phone up to the mic so the audience could hear her reaction, which included the singer shouting, “We won!” to someone on her end of the phone. She then asked Antonoff, “Is James Taylor there?… Can you tell James Taylor, I love him?”
The Bleachers frontman responded, “I don’t know if he’s here,” to which Swift said, “Can somebody who knows James Taylor, tell him I love him?” Antonoff then ended the call by saying, “Ok, we’ll tell him. I’m gonna call you back, this is crazy.” The 58th annual Grammy Awards air at 8 p.m. on CBS, and Gossip Cop will have full coverage.
