Adam Sandler’s Jack and Jill Getting Almost “0″ Love From Critics

(Sony)

It’s long been said that Adam Sandler is critic-proof at the box office.

That theory might get its ultimate test this weekend.

The comedian’s new Jack and Jill is currently at 3% “fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes, the site that aggregates movie reviews.

That means 97% of the reviewers who have seen the comedy (in which Sandler plays a man and his twin sister) gave it the proverbial thumb’s down.

For comparison’s sake, last week’s box office champ, Puss in Boots, scores an 82% fresh.

Sandler’s last starring role came in Just Go With It, which earned a 20% fresh rating with critics – certainly not good, but nearly seven times higher than Jack and Jill‘s score.

That movie earned more than $100 million.

Will Jack and Jill also find better luck with audiences than with critics? Check Gossip Cop‘s box office projections on Saturday morning.

Critics Imo Don’t Know How To Judge Movies so going by Critics Rating would cause you to miss a chance on a good movie

I’m really intrested in who’s gonna win Happy Feet 2 or Twilight Saga?

You know Twilight is gonna win next weekend. Shame because those movies suck ass!

Critics have never liked Adam Sandler. They gave Grown Ups a bad review and look how good it did. That movie is hilarious. Jack & Jill looks funny to me.

  • Solarflare7

    Twilight will win of course

they suck so much that they have made 1.8 billion dollars right dude, sooo baaaaad

  • fakerbuster

couldnt agree more with you , i never follow movie critics i just go by with what i like , to me movies are made to simply be enjoyed not to be overly analyzed

Critics never like anything that go on to make big money. I think they get paid to trash money makers and praise the smaller ones.

I gave up on movie critics a long time ago. They give away too much of the movie and they’re usually just cranky.

Jack and Jill looks like a typical Sandler movie. And I’m going tonight.

Critics are often wrong, that’s true. But even the poster for this looks misogynistic. I dread to think what the movie itself is like. Adam Sandler’s appeal is a mystery to me.

Has nothing to do with the quality of the films. Get over yourself, dude!

  • Pink_stars_05

Why hate on twilight saga huh?? quality is just fine thank you very much

And everyone kws that when u make a movie fr a book its not goin to live up to the book but its trys its hardest to and as a fan of the saga I can say that the 1st one wasnt as great as the other two

Plus that only ur opinion which doesn’t matter cuz the more u hate the movie the more popular its becomes to just annoy u

My husband is a big Adam Sandler fan, so he really wanted to see this. We went along with our 10 year old son regardless of the reviews and thought it was really funny. I expected it to be horrible, but I was pleasantly surprised. The theater was not packed but pretty much everyone was laughing and no one that I noticed left early. Everyone has different tastes. I don’t see the point of movie critics who don’t like Adam Sandler reviewing his movies. The sexual innuedo was very minimal and went completely over my son’s head. It was a good movie for the family. I hope it does well at the box office. Thumb’s up!

I absolutely LOVE Adam Sandler; I can Not wait to see this movie. The trailers are so very funny!!!
I never listen to the critics…they really can be rather stupid/judgemental–they could have been in a bad mood that day!

new moon was awful but eclipse was good but yes i love kristen stewart so ill watch it but the movies aren’t all that good and numbers don’t matter when it comes to movies doesn’t make it good

Some of the most entertaining movies that I have ever seen were all panned by the critics. Some of these movies would include Revenge of the Nerds, Christmas Story (Red Rider bee-bee gun), Dragonfly w/Kevin Costner, K-Pax and the list goes on. I enjoyed Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore, Mr. Deeds & Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo & I’ll probably enjoy Jack & Jill, too. What really amazes me is what some movies the critics hand all of the accolades to that I would consider to be pure crap…and there seems to be plenty of it today. My rule of thumb…if the movie is out on DVD in 2 months, it’s probably not a very good movie. In the meantime, I’ll judge for myself and not rely on some stuffy movie critic that needs to have something surgically removed from his rear end. lol

I’m not an Adam Sandler fan but his movies always look like they would be fun and mindless, perfect for a night at the movies. Nothing wrong with that. As long as people are willing to pay $12 to see his movies, Sandler will keep making them. The man does have his fans. A bad movie review means nothing to a true fan.
