Both Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Nettles went into Thursday’s “Duets” finale with their respective partners – but only one pairing emerged victorious.

Clarkson and her remaining partner Jason Farol faced off against Nettles and her two partners, John Glosson and J Rome.

Each pairing performed one last song before finding out who won the show’s inaugural season.

So, which celebrity and duet partner came out on top?

Nettles and J Rome!

The Sugarland singer’s no-longer amateur partner – who was consistently a frontrunner all season – will now have his own recording contract with Hollywood Records.

    I am very happy with the results, I feel like I knew he would win all along. He has the whole package and he was already getting a fan base on y YouTube and from the show. I thought Jason was also going to be a success and although he didn’t win I think he’ll go on to bigger and better things. I watched the whole season and didn’t miss an episode thanks to my Hopper. Thanks to the suggestion of a coworker at Dish, I love that I can skip commercials altogether with the push of a button. It give me more time to focus on the show!

    There was really no suspense whatsoever as to who the winner was; however Olivia and Robin Thicke *stole the show* singing “Fever”. Quddus could barely introduce the Final Three over their prolonged ovation! I would have loved to have heard ALL the ousted singers (cue ladies) sing a few lines solo, even for just a few bars. I mean, they were all dressed up and everything. I thought it was unsporting of Quddus to ask John Legend who he would pick for the winner when it was so, um, obvious. Contestant John was gracious though, clapping for J Rome when Legend chose J Rome (it that his name?). The question should not have been asked or Legend should have side-stepped it. I really enjoyed the show and thought they could have taken out WIPE OUT for the night or at least made Duets 90 minutes. I tuned in for Kelly and John Legend but wound up an unlikely Robin Thicke and Jennifer Nettles fan in the process. I also hope to hear all contestants agin at some point. Well, most of them.

    Quddus is a horrible host, but I enjoyed the show in spite of him. I thought both John and J Rome were fantastic! Robin Thicke’s partners had no chance. He’s way too cheesy and the performances were hard to watch. Yuck!

    This show is classic. I don’t know why it didn’t gain good ratings. Maybe they need more

    younger contestants.The judges are polite unlike other shows but John Legend needs to show

    more confidence in body language. He looks like a student in front of a teacher while giving

    comments.

    I loved the show. For a first season the contestants were all great and loaded with raw talent. I hope that the other contestants get an opportunity through their sponsors to go on and get a contract because they deserved one! I hope that there is a second season. The judges were kind not rude like the other reality shows! Congratulations to all three of the finalist!

    I really enjoyed Duets first season. I taped every episode. I hope it comes back next season. I like the fact that the judges were not rude. J Rome is awesome; I will buy his CD. If he gets the right music, I can see him going a long way. God Bless you J Rome, and all the other contestants !!!!!!!
