The Star is reporting that “Jennifer Love Hewitt washed boyfriend Jamie Kennedy‘s favorite tee — but ruined it in the process!”
According to an alleged “friend” of the “Ghost Whisperer” star, “It was a $3,000 Phillies jersey with some of the 2008 players’ signatures… Washing it erased all the autographs.”
Two side notes: One, how does a magazine write a story about a signed 2008 Philadelphia Phillies uniform — and not mention they won the World Series that year, which is why the shirt has value? Two, Gossip Cop loves how the Star‘s sources always uses synonyms – such as “autographs” and “signatures” — when casually speaking.
Getting back to the story, the rag says Kennedy was “bummed,” but his girlfriend quickly rectified the situation by buying another uniform “with signatures from every single one of the players, and he thought it was a home run.”
Well, once again the Star has struck out. A rep for Hewitt told Gossip Cop she checked with her client, and the actress said there was “no truth to the story.”
