Is Katie Holmes Creating a Line of Clothes for Scientologists?

A number of sites reported that Katie Holmes is designing clothes for the Church of Scientology to which she belongs, and her husband Tom Cruise is arguably its most famous member.
Those stories ran with such headlines as “Katie Holmes Helping Design New Costumes For ‘The Aliens.’” Some even went on to say that Holmes and Cruise influenced a new line of “vampire-themed“ Scientology “uniforms” that were described as “scarlet-lined black capes with skirt and trouser suits.”
Sorry to throw holier than thou water on this vampire tale, but Holmes is not – repeat, NOT – designing clothes for the Church of Scientology, her rep assured Gossip Cop. Holmes did, however, create about a dozen pieces of women’s and children’s wear with her stylist Jeanne Yang – for their line, Holmes & Yang – which will be available this fall exclusively at Maxfield in Los Angeles.
