Jurassic World Edges Out Inside Out For July Fourth Holiday Weekend Box Office
Jurassic World once again took the biggest bite out of the box office, winning the July Fourth holiday weekend. The dinosaur movie just barely edged out Inside Out for the top spot.
In its fourth week, Jurassic World earned $30.9 million for a total domestic take of $558.1 million. The July Fourth weekend ticket sales were more than enough to top Inside Out, which took second place with $30.1 million.
Nabbing third place was Terminator Genisys with $28.7 million. Meanwhile, Magic Mike XXL secured the fourth spot with $12 million. The two highly anticipated sequels opened over the holiday weekend to relatively disappointing numbers, despite the hype.
Coming in at fifth place was Ted 2, another sequel that hasn’t lived up to its original’s box office. Ted 2 earned just $11 million in its second weekend.
Rounding out the Top 10 over the July Fourth weekend were sixth place finisher Max with $7 million, Spy with $5.5 million, San Andreas in eight with $3 million, and Me And Earl And The Dying Girl took ninth place with $1.3 million.
Dope, which earned $1 million, once again remained in the Top 10. What did you see this July Fourth weekend?
