In Touch Fails Again with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie “Feud”

To commemorate a year in which they got wrong just about everything Brad Pitt- and Angelina Jolie-related, In Touch closes 2009 with a classically contrived conflict.

“The Feud Gets Worse,” the weekly bellows, claiming that Jolie fought with Pitt’s mom on his 46th birthday, “straining her relations with Brad’s parents to the breaking point.”

According to a so-called “friend,” the fight began when Jolie vetoed Pitt’s plans to visit his parents in Missouri for Christmas. When Pitt’s mother, Jane, got “furious” and called Jolie, the actress “fired back, telling Jane she’s sick of her interfering in her and Brad’s lives.” The same “friend” claims Jolie hung up on Brad’s mom, leading his father to call him and say Jolie had “ruined the holidays” for the family.

“She’s on his parents’ bad side,” an “insider” concludes. “It’s another reason for Brad to leave her.”

Let Gossip Cop offer this theory: In Touch has been burned so often on stories of a Brangelina breakup, they’ll invent any claim to make it seem like the couple is on the outs. Let’s look at the track record.

Last March, you’ll recall, the weekly claimed the couple was on the brink of splitting. They weren’t.

In October, the magazine declared the Pitt-Jolie clan “divided,” “at odds,” and “living separate lives.” Still wrong.

Then In Touch claimed Pitt was running back to Jennifer Aniston. Nope.

Oh, and they made the Pitt-Aniston claims a second time! Another whiff.

Gossip Cop reached out to several reliable Pitt and Jolie sources who have debunked this kind of nonsense before, and they tell us the In Touch “feud” news is equally out of touch.
