In Touch claims Tom Cruise and Katie to have separate Holmes

Despite Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise being perfectly content together when they have time off from their respective films, “The Romantics” and “Knight & Day,” In Touch seems hell-bent on tearing the two apart.

The magazine’s cover this week declares, “Katie Moves Out,” and claims “a heated argument ends with Katie packing her bags.”

Not surprisingly, there isn’t one sentence in the six-page article that describes how she moved out of their home.

Oh Gossip Cop and our wacky attention to details — and accuracy.

Anyway, according to In Touch, on November 17 — a day before their third wedding anniversary — Cruise made a surprise visit to the Long Island, New York set of Holmes’ film, and inside her trailer, says the magazine’s source, the couple had “a real blowout.”

Over what?

In Touch claims “Katie’s had it with Tom’s domineering ways — and she can no longer relate to his movie-star lifestyle,” which includes shopping at the best stores and eating at the finest restaurants. It was that supposed fight, says a Holmes “pal,” that “cemented a decision she’d been mulling for days: To stay in New York — alone — after the movie shoot is through.”

The magazine further reports that “another pal of Katie’s” says Holmes is “so eager for her new life in New York to start that’s she’s begun to gradually pack her bags to make NYC her permanent bicoastal address.”

Of course, to cover themselves when Holmes doesn’t leave Cruise after filming ends, In Touch throws in the last line, “if he wants to save his marriage, he certainly has his work cut out for him.”

Actually, Gossip Cop thinks In Touch has its work cut out for them.

Sources says talk of marital strife between Holmes and Cruise has been somewhat exaggerated. And Holmes’ rep didn’t waste six pages. She succinctly told Gossip Cop that In Touch‘s cover story is “not true.”
