Iman Breaks Silence After David Bowie’s Death
Iman has broken her social media silence in the wake of David Bowie’s death.
As Gossip Cop reported, Bowie died on January 10, just two days after his 69th birthday. The music icon had secretly been battling liver cancer. His health situation was only known to family and the closest of friends, leaving the public stunned over the news of his passing.
Bowie’s son Duncan from his first marriage was the only family member to comment after his death. Iman, who married Bowie in 1992, did not release any kind of statement. Their 15-year-old daughter, Lexi, did not speak out either.
But now nearly a month later, Iman is thanking fans for their support in a short but poignant message on Instagram. On Saturday, the supermodel posted an image that reads, “‘Love & Gratitude’ Iman.” She did not include a caption (see below).
In just an hour, the post has already been liked more than 6,000 times and racked up 500 comments. Indeed, followers from all over the world are now responding with new messages of support. “Welcome back Iman. I was thinking of you and your family. Sending you love from Japan,” wrote one fan. Another said, “Love, strength and blessings from Belgium. We all think of you.”
Gossip Cop, too, wishes Iman nothing but the best during this trying time. She and Bowie are pictured above in 2011.
