Iggy Azalea Slams Haters: Half The Internet Does ‘Devil’s Work Free Of Charge’
Iggy Azalea broke her Twitter silence and struck back at her haters on Friday following the publication of a Billboard cover interview with Kendrick Lamar in which he praised the polarizing Australian rapper. As Gossip Cop reported, Lamar told the outlet, “She’s doing her thing,” he says. “Let her. People have to go through trials and tribulations to get where they at. Do your thing, continue to rock it, because obviously God wants you here.”
But a number of people, most notably Lamar critic Azealia Banks, have repeatedly attacked Azalea and questioned her talent. Banks and others have specifically called out Azalea for appropriating black culture. Azalea had not tweeted in more than a week before Friday, when she told fans she’d been working on music and a Steve Madden campaign. Then the rapper indirectly addressed what Lamar said and took her bashers to task:
Someone I know makes a positive judgement about me and as a result a million people who know neither of us are outraged. Irony Is real. God is the only being I’ve never personally met whose opinion I’d consider strongly and he shows me daily he approves by blessing me. There’s no need for you do try to do his job for him!
Half of the Internet out here doing the devils work free of charge and don’t even realize. They’d rather agree with the opinion of someone I’ve never even been within 4000 ft of than ponder wether the opinion of someone I’ve had plenty of conversations with could be valid. The world is a funny place.
Azalea has become a lightning rod in the hip-hop world, and it seems like everyone has an opinion about her. It seems like she’s getting a little sick of seeing certain uninformed opinions online. What do you think?
