Iggy Azalea Blasts “Old Man” Eminem For Threatening To “Rape” Her In Song
Iggy Azalea is blasting Eminem for threatening her with rape in his song “Vegas,” which is expected to be a track on his upcoming album Shady XV. Following the leak of the controversial one-minute excerpt, Azalea took to Twitter on Thursday to shame Eminem for trying to exploit threats of violence toward young women for profit.
In “Vegas,” Eminem raps, “You’re lucky just to follow my ride/ If I let you run alongside the Humvee, unless you’re Nicki/ Grab you by the wrist, let’s ski/ So, what’s it gon’ be?/ Put that sh-t away, Iggy/ You gon’ blow that rape whistle on me.” Pretty intense stuff.
Azalea responded to the shocking lyrics by tweeting, “I’m bored of the old men threatening young women as entertainment trend and much more interested in the young women getting $ trend. zzzz.” She continued, “It’s especially akward [sic] because my 14 year old brother is the biggest eminem fan and now the artist he admired says he wants to rape me. nice!” Taking a final shot at Eminem, she wrote, “Women in music have the bigger balls anyhow we endure much more harassment and critic. [sic] good morninnggggg!!!!!! off to camera block for AMAs!”
As Gossip Cop previously reported, Eminem was criticized last week for lyrics in which he threatens to punch Lana Del Rey in the face, using references to disgraced NFL star Ray Rice’s domestic abuse of wife Janay Rice. What do you think Azalea’s response to Eminem’s latest lyrics?
