Hunter Plake ‘Elastic Heart’ “The Voice” Video – Watch Live Playoffs Performance!
Hunter Plake sang a new version of Sia’s “Elastic Heart” during “The Voice” Live Playoffs on Tuesday. Watch below!
As Gossip Cop has reported, the aspiring star became one to watch after the Battles, when both Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani tried to steal him. He chose to join Team Gwen, and Plake sang Foreigner’s “I Want To Know What Love Is” in a reinvented way for the Knockouts. The move paid off, with the contestant beating Johnny Gates. Stefani, however, later chose Gates to be her Comeback Artist, meaning he, too, would compete in the fourth round of the NBC competition.
And not only was the pressure high because this is the first time the competitors are performing live, but by night’s end, Stefani’s team would shrink from six to three. In rehearsal, she told Plake that he’s the first artist to be in the top 30 on iTunes twice before the live shows even started. Now he had a chance to chart again with Sia’s powerful ballad.
Levine gave a standing ovation, saying afterward, “You’re so, so good… I don’t know if we’ve ever had anyone like you.” He added, “I can see exactly where you’re going to go… This show is a mere stepping stone for you.” Stefani added, “I’m so blown away by everything you just did… What he did is unbelievable.”
And at the end of the show, it was revealed Plake earned enough instant votes to make it into the Top 12. Check out the video below.
