Hugh Laurie, who tonight can be seen in the two-hour premiere of his hit show, “House,” is “considering quitting,” say reports, “because his pretend limp… is giving him a real-life injury.”

The Express reports that “the fake limp has caused Laurie some real problems – and he wouldn’t rule out leaving the show in a bid to regain full health.”

A slew of other outlets picked up on the story, and blogs burst with outrage that their favorite dour doctor is ready to hang up his stethoscope.

Relax. Take a deep breath. His rep, who was surprised by our questioning, told Gossip Cop it was “not true” and called stories about him now having hip problems – because of the show – “hysterical.”
